Channel positions can be any location on a channel. It is defined by a
channel and a kilometer position on that channel.
Use of channel positions
Channel positions are used as a reference to add information to PROTIDE. It is the basis of the definition of channel segments (from and to position), it can be used to associate
predictions to geographical locations and possible destinations are a selection of the channel positions.
